CRAIG SOLOMON is the Executive Director at Wesley Child Care Center. Craig holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Psychology from National-Louis University. Craig brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from both the public and private sectors of education. He previously held a senior level management position with the Chicago Public Schools as Assistant to the Board and was most recently Vice-President of a consulting firm with expertise in the education sector.
Craig began his career with Wesley Child Care in 1991 working in the school-age programs and from 1996-2001, he served as the Multi-Site School Age Program Director. Craig rejoined Wesley Child Care in April of 2013 as Executive Director to serve Wesley families and the community.
JEANNE HARMAN is the Preschool Program Director at Wesley Child Care Center. Jeanne holds a Bachelors of Arts in Child Development from Northern Illinois University. Jeanne has been at Wesley since 1991 starting out as the School-Age Program Director. In 1995 Jeanne became the Preschool Program Director. Jeanne’s past experiences include working as a Child Life Specialist at Children’s Memorial Hospital and being an administrator at other early childhood programs.
AZAM ABOUTORABI is a teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program. Azam has been at Wesley since 1989. Azam holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts and has 18 additional hours in early childhood education. Azam has been a presenter for the Association for the Education of Young Children Conference and has been very involved in intergenerational programming. In 2003 Azam received special recognition from the Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) for outstanding teaching team in the early childhood field.
MARY LYNN DORNFELD is a Teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program. Mary Lynn holds an Early Childhood Preschool Certificate from Oakton Community College and is working towards her Associates Degree in Early Childhood. Before working at Wesley Child Care Center, Mary Lynn worked at Glenview Covenant Childcare for 16 years as a preschool teacher and an administrative assistant.
BONNIE GARCIA is a teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program. Bonnie has been at Wesley since 2000. Bonnie holds an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Oakton Community College as well as a certificate in Intergenerational Studies. Previous to working at Wesley, Bonnie was a Preschool Teacher at Niles Township Community Day Care Center for twelve years.
DARCY KELLY is a teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program. Darcy has been at Wesley since 1997. Darcy holds an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Oakton Community College.
COOKIE LUSTIG is a teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program. Cookie has been at Wesley since 2000. Cookie holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Roosevelt University. Cookie began her teaching career teaching kindergarten and second grade in the Chicago Public Schools. She spent several years teaching in the Head Start Program in Chicago. Previous to working at Wesley, Cookie was a preschool teacher for eight years at other early childhood programs. In 2003 Cookie received special recognition from the Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) for outstanding teaching team in the early childhood field.
DEMETRA PITSIOS-MIHALOPULOS is a teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program. Demetra has been at Wesley since 1993. Demetra has also worked in our school age programs. Demetra holds a degree in Early Childhood Education. Demetra’s other work experiences include working at the Wellness Center in Arlington Heights as the director for their childcare program.
KENDRA RANDAZZO is a teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program. Kendra has been at Wesley since 2004. Kendra holds an Early Childhood Certificate from Depaul University and is working towards her Early Childhood Degree. Previous to working at Wesley, Kendra was a preschool director and teacher for the Sonshine Lutheran Preschool in Prospect Heights and had sixteen years of early childhood teaching experience.
DEBBIE SCIMECA holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Arts from Loyola University. She has additional Early Childhood Education from Oakton Community College. She is a former Wesley parent and is working as a Teacher’s Assistant in our Preschool Program. Debbie has many years of experience with young children in schools volunteering. Her most recent experience involved working with elementary students during recreational/therapy programs in District 63 and at a private gym. Debbie also enjoys volunteering at Kohl’s Children’s Museum.
JENNIE LAZIK is a Preschool Teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program. Jennie started teaching in the Wesley Preschool Program in August 2012. Jennie originally began working at Wesley in 1998 working as a Group Leader in the School Age Before and After School Program and School Age Summer Camp Program.,. Jennie’s additional teaching experiences include working at Open Arms Child Development Center, at Glenview Park District’s Early Childhood Program, and at the Tick Tock Child Care. Jennie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Fine Arts from North Park University.
