Ellen Fagerburg is the Executive Director at Wesley Child Care Center.  Ellen holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and Speech from Illinois Wesleyan University. Ellen began her career with Wesley in 1973 as a Preschool Teacher.  In 1984 Ellen became the Preschool Program Director. In 1989 Ellen became the Executive Director for Wesley.  Ellen’s previous work experience includes teaching first grade and writing training manuals for State Farm Insurance Agency.

As Executive Director Ellen collaborates with Glenview District 34 and local agencies to identify and meet the childcare needs of families in the community. Ellen also participates in the Glenview Values Consortium, is the chairperson of the Social Services Committee, and is a member of Glenview/Northbrook Kiwanis Club.  Ellen has also been a presenter several times at the Chicago Metro Association for the Education of Young Children Conference.

 

DIRECTOR

Jeanne Harman is the Preschool Program Director at Wesley Child Care Center.  Jeanne holds a Bachelors of Arts in Child Development from Northern Illinois University.  Jeanne has been at Wesley since 1991 starting out as the School-Age Program Director.  In 1995 Jeanne became the Preschool Program Director.  Jeanne’s past experiences include working as a Child Life Specialist at Children’s Memorial Hospital and being an administrator at other early childhood programs. 


PRESCHOOL STAFF

Azam Aboutorabi  is a teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program. Azam has been at Wesley since 1989. Azam holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts and has 18 additional hours in early childhood education. Azam has been a presenter for the Association for the Education of Young Children Conference and has been very involved in intergenerational programming. In 2003 Azam received special recognition from the Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) for outstanding teaching team in the early childhood field.


Bonnie Garcia is a teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program.  Bonnie has been at Wesley since 2000.  Bonnie holds an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Oakton Community College as well as a certificate in Intergenerational Studies. Previous to working at Wesley, Bonnie was a Preschool Teacher at Niles Township Community Day Care Center for twelve years.

 

Darcy Kelly is a teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program.  Darcy has been at Wesley since 1997.  Darcy holds an Early Childhood Certificate from Oakton Community College and is working towards her Associates Degree in Early Childhood.

 

Cookie Lustig is a teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program. Cookie has been at Wesley since 2000. Cookie holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Roosevelt University.  Cookie began her teaching career teaching kindergarten and second grade in the Chicago Public Schools.  She spent several years teaching in the Head Start Program in Chicago.  Previous to working at Wesley, Cookie was a preschool teacher for eight years at other early childhood programs.  In 2003 Cookie received special recognition from the Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) for outstanding teaching team in the early childhood field.

 

Amber Mavarados is a substitute teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program.  Amber has been at Wesley since 1998 starting out as a teacher’s assistant in Wesley’s Kindergarten Program.  In 1999 Amber became a teacher in the Kindergarten Program. Amber began working in the Wesley Preschool Program in 2005.  Amber holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Monmouth College.


Demetra Pitsios-Mihalopoulos is a teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program.  Demetra has been at Wesley since 1993. Demetra has also worked in our school age programs. Demetra holds a degree in Early Childhood Education.  Demetra’s other work experiences include working at the Wellness Center in Arlington Heights as the director for their childcare program.

 

Kendra Randazzo is a teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program.  Kendra has been at Wesley since 2004.  Kendra holds an Early Childhood Certificate from Depaul University and is working towards her Early Childhood Degree from Oakton Community College. Previous to working at Wesley, Kendra was a preschool director and teacher for the Sonshine Lutheran Preschool in Prospect Heights and had sixteen years of early childhood teaching experience.

 

Daisy Montoya is a teacher’s assistant in the Wesley Preschool Program.  Daisy has been at Wesley since 2004.  Daisy is currently working on her Associates Degree from Oakton Community College.  Previous to working at Wesley, Daisy worked for the Evanston District 65 schools as a teacher’s assistant.

 

Mary Lynn Dornfeld is a Teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program. Mary Lynn holds an Early Childhood Preschool Certificate from Oakton Community College and is working towards her Associates Degree in Early Childhood. Before working at Wesley Child Care Center, Mary Lynn worked at Glenview Covenant Childcare for 16 years as a preschool teacher and an administrative assistant.

 

Michelle Reynolds is a Teacher in the Wesley Preschool Program.  Michelle holds a Bachelors Degree in Human Development and Family Studies and is working towards her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at Chicago State University.  Before working at Wesley Child Care Center, Michelle worked at Total Child Day Care for three years as a preschool teacher.

 

Jennifer Boudreau is a Teacher’s Assistant in the Wesley Preschool Program. Jennifer has been with Wesley since 2006. Jennifer is working towards her Associate’s Degree at Oakton Community College.  Previous to working at Wesley, Jennifer worked as a nanny and a summer camp counselor.
