CHILD & ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM

The Wesley Child Care Center announces participation in the Child and Adult Care Food Program. This program is designed primarily to provide nutritious meals to all children in child care centers, Head Start programs, before-and after-school programs, and homeless shelters. Meals are available at no separate charge to children. In accordance with Federal law and U.S. Department of Agriculture policy, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. U.S.D.A. INCOME ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES FOR FREE AND REDUCED-PRICE MEALS
For July 1, 2007, Through June 30, 2008

Child care facilities are eligible for higher rates of reimbursement when the enrolled children are from households whose income is within the levels shown in the chart below.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTITUTIONS

  1. All new institutions beginning participation in Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) must submit a copy of this Program Announcement tot he newspaper. Request to have it printed as a public service announcement at no charge. Keep a copy of this announcement, name of the newspaper, and date submitted to newspaper in your files.
  2. New institutions who operate only At-Risk After-School Snack/Supper Programs or homeless shelters can omit publishing the section of this announcement which lists USDA Income Eligibility Guidelines for Free and Reduced-Price Meals.
  3. To maintain security and safety measures, homeless shelters for battered persons are not required to submit this announcement to the newspaper.
  4. Institutions currently participating in CACFP are not required to send this announcement to their newspaper because the Illinois State Board of Education submits a state-wide public release that fulfills this obligation.
